You know the drill by now, right? The start of a new month means favourites from the month just gone. So here are my April Beauty Favourites…
#1 Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in Stone
I have held off talking about this liquid lipstick purely because it’s ALWAYS out of stock. Beauty Bay are constantly sold out and the Dose of Colors website is usually out of stock but it’s available at the moment.
This liquid lipstick is worth the customs charges if you do order from the DoC website. It’s a beautiful mauve colour and definitely a Kylie Jenner shade. This colour looks great on so many skin tones and it’s very long-lasting. If you want to try a Dose of Colors liquid lipstick, this is the best one to start with.
#2 Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
This is a life saver. It should be in everyone’s skincare stash. We all suffer with breakouts, especially at a certain time of month for us ladies. I am so glad I packed this product when I went on holiday. I broke out a little after being on the plane. This lotion dries out any potential spots.
Mario Badescu says…
An excellent spot treatment made with a blend of Calamine and Salicylic Acid, Drying Lotion clears up and soothes unsightly whiteheads overnight without irritating the surrounding skin.
You will find a clear liquid in the bottle and a layer of pink Calamine and Talc at the bottom. Now this is the important bit…DO NOT SHAKE BEFORE APPLYING. The product is supposed to stay separate. It’s not the end of the world if you do shake it but you’ll have to wait around for it to separate again.
Dip a cotton bud into the solution until you hit the pink stuff at the bottom. Dab the cotton bud onto the spot and leave the lotion dry out. For the best results, leave on overnight and wash off in the morning.
Available in a glass or plastic bottle. Sold at Beauty Bay for £12.50.
#3 Morphe M439 Deluxe Buffer Brush
I’ve been cheating on my Beauty Blender sponge with this brush. I feel so guilty! Jaclyn Hill knows her makeup and I trust her opinions on YouTube but I was a little skeptical about this Morphe range. Jaclyn is an affiliate so she’s getting paid to back this brand.
Long story short, I gave into the hype and bought this brush as every other foundation brush I’d tried didn’t really work for me.
This brush is amazing, it’s a real game changer. I swore by the beauty blender until now. The brush head is so densely packed with synthetic bristles that it applies foundation like a dream. It’s very soft so it won’t irritate your skin.
My next article is a Morphe Haul so I’ll go into more detail in Sunday’s post.
#4 It Cosmetics CC Cream in Light
Mentioned in my Ulta Mini Haul, I have been using this CC cream almost every day for 3 weeks. I love how easy it is to use the pump and squirt it straight onto your face. No messy hands!
Combined with the above Morphe buffer brush, it takes less than a minute to apply. Excellent for people on the go. It leaves a lovely lightweight base and provides protection from the sun thanks to the SPF 50+.
Which products were your favourites this month? Feedback is always welcome. Let me know if there’s any products you would like me to try and report back.
See you Sunday with my Morphe Brush Haul.
