Finding favourite beauty items every month can be challenging and sometimes a little repetitive. With that said, I will only ever feature items in my favourites which I’ve truly enjoyed using over the month…old or new. Here are my August beauty favourites…
La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL 50+ SPF
Perhaps a little late with this one but I’ve been trying to include a high SPF in my skincare routine lately. Even on those cloudy days. According to some skin care experts, we should start using SPF creams in our twenties to prevent sun damage and wrinkles.
I don’t know about you but wearing sunscreen was always something I saved for the odd day of sunshine in the summer. However, protecting your skin from the sun is important all year-round, including the winter when the sun is hard to spot.
This particular cream has a very high sun protection and doesn’t leave your skin greasy. It’s also water-resistant.
Purchase this at Boots for £15.50. It comes in this handy 50ml size. I took this with me to Majorca last week and my face didn’t burn once!
Urban Decay Chill Setting Spray
Another handy item when I was in a hot country. Temperatures reached 30°C in Majorca and keeping my makeup in place was a breeze with this setting spray. The All Nighter spray is my favourite but this Chill spray cools the skin as well as setting makeup.
The only downside to this product is that it’s the only setting spray Urban Decay don’t sell in a travel size. Not entirely sure why as the packaging is the same as the All Nighter.
Available from feelunique and Debenhams stores for £22 (118ml).
ColourPop Ultra Glossy Lip in Tight Fit
I couldn’t wait for ColourPop to launch their range of lip glosses and on my birthday no less! I ordered six of the nude shades (review coming soon) and Tight Fit was my favourite once I’d caught a slight tan on holiday.
It’s described by ColourPop as…”light peachy pink with highlights of silver, pink and gold shimmer in a metallic finish”.
Available from ColourPop for £4.57 ($6). They really are great value for money.
Murad Daily Cleansing Foam
Part of their Pore Reform line, this face cleanser is great for washing away dirt and oil. It removes any impurities which may clog your pores. It also acts as a toner which tightens pores without over-drying the skin.
The pump turns the liquid cleanser into a foam which should be massaged into damp skin. Rinse and pat dry.
My skin looks clean and my pores appear smaller when I use this. It has a delicious pomegranate scent too.
That completes my August Beauty Favourites. Come back Wednesday for more High-End Hump Day.
