I’m back! My holiday in Los Angeles is over and you’ll be pleased to know I visited plenty of beauty supply stores. I have so much to share with you and I’d like to test a lot of these products for a few weeks before giving a full review. Today, I’ll start with a smaller haul from Ulta…
Ulta Mini Haul – First Impressions
For us lot in the UK who don’t have Ulta stores, they sell skin care & hair care products as well as makeup. They sell brands such as Murad, It Cosmetics, Urban Decay, Laura Geller, Too Faced, Living Proof, NYX and much more. Here are my purchases…
#1 It Cosmetics – Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream
Recommended by British beauty blogger/vlogger, Vivianna Does Makeup, I picked this product up as I’m starting to run low on my favourite BB cream by Dior. I’ve heard great things about this product and I was a little curious about how a CC cream differs from a BB cream.
Now, after a little research, the difference between a BB cream and CC cream is simple.
BB creams are great for dry skin. They are creamy and moisturising. CC creams are colour correctors which are lightweight on the skin. They contain light-reflecting particles which even out skin tone and often have anti-aging properties.
This particular CC cream contains an anti-aging hydrating serum and SPF50+. I can safely say that this CC cream is a great sunscreen. After I purchased this, I used it every day and not once did my face burn. On the really sunny days, temperatures were reaching about 28°C. I am really impressed with this product.
The only place I’ve seen this product in the UK is on Rose’s Beauty Store. It sells out quickly so buy it while you can.
#2 It Cosmetics – Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer
This recommendation comes from the hilarious Lustrelux on YouTube. Great for covering up dark circles, this concealer is very thick so you only need a tiny amount. It’s similar to Tarte’s Creaseless Concealer. It’s creamy enough to pat it on with a fingertip and it doesn’t really need much blending out.
Be sure to set this concealer with a powder to avoid creasing.
QVC now stock some It Cosmetics products and this is one of them. It sold out fast and there’s currently a waitlist. You can also try purchasing this from Rose’s Beauty Store.
#3 Kenra Platinum – Hot Spray
A firm-hold heat protection spray which can withstand 220°C temperatures. This means it’s great for protecting the hair when using curling tongs or straighteners. I have heard Nicole Guerriero talk about this line of hair products and she seems to rate them quite highly, which is good enough for me.
I’ve only used this once when I was straightening my hair. It did make my hair soft and smooth, so far so good!
You can buy this from Amazon for £24.20 (235ml).
#4 Laura Geller – Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator (Gilded Honey)
A cult favourite and another product which is often out of stock here in the UK. I jumped at the chance to buy this illuminator as I’ve heard it’s a beautiful highlighter for the cheekbones. Not only that, it’s small in size which makes it perfect for travelling. More so than the BECCA or theBalm highlighters.
I hope you enjoyed reading this mini haul. These products are great purchases and if you can get your hands on them here in the UK, I would recommend doing so. I’m really pleasantly surprised that these products are worth the money. Believe the hype!
